Welcome to Blue...

Top 5 Most Taxed States, just so happen to be Blue States.

1. VermontPopulation: 620,000
Average tax burden per person: $3,861

2. HawaiiPopulation: 1.29 millionAverage tax burden per person: $3,856

3. ConnecticutPopulation: 3.5 millionAverage tax burden per person: $3,596

4. MinnesotaPopulation: 5.2 millionAverage tax burden per person: $3,203

5. New JerseyPopulation: 8.7 millionAverage tax burden per person: $3,024

Coincidence? I think we need more data like the above to show juts how your state legislation affects you individually. The nice thing about the above study is it shows the avg. individual tax burden. Not surprising is the Top Ten:

6. New York
Population: 19.4 million
Average tax burden per person: $3,019

7. Massachusetts
Population: 6.4 million
Average tax burden per person: $2,953

8. Washington
Population: 6.6 million
Average tax burden per person: $2,553

9. Wyoming
Population: 530,000
Average tax burden per person: $2,357

10. Pennsylvania
Population: 12.4 million
Average tax burden per person: $2,223

Only one red state can be found, and it is a state with no individual income tax which would lead to higher property taxes, as evidenced in other states that do not have individual income taxes (Hawaii, New Hampshire…).

Next time, think before you vote…taxes do affect you. If you think the government can spend your money efficiently, take another look, or move to one of the above states ;-)
